Doctor of Philosophy Suffolk College 1993 which I am informed by Ofqual
is at level 8, My PhD research looked at the cause and distribution of black
in mould in housing in the UK that I gained in 1993.
Which allowed me to achieve full membership of the British Mycological
Society in 2019, which I am informed by Ofqual is at level 6.
Indeed, I am the only BMS accredited black pin mould housing pathology
expert in the UK.
I am also, President and Fellow of the National Institution of Black Mould
Experts. which I am informed by Ofqual is at level 8, Also, I have been
awarded Fellowship of The Royal Society for Public Health, in recognition
of my work in Black pin mould. which I am informed by Ofqual is at level 8.
I hold a masters in Structural Building Surveying which I am informed by
Ofqual is at level 7, and an undergraduate degree in environmental studies
also taught at Suffolk College which I am informed by Ofqual is at level 6.
I am accredited with being a Fellow Chartered Building Surveyor with
full FRICS membership having completed my APC which I am informed by
Ofqual is at level 8, Furthermore, I am also, a Chartered Building Engineer
with Fellowship of CABE C. Build E FCABE certification. after also completing
my APC, which is also set at level 8 by Ofqual.
I am President and Fellow National Institution of Black Mould Experts.
Where I accredit experts in black pin mould and carryout training with
surveyors and solicitors alike. Again, this is also accredited by Ofqual at level 8.
Additionally, I had been responsible for reactive housing complaints work,
HHSRS assessment, HMO licensing and enforcement of housing standards
for councils across the UK for in excess of 30 years.
I have been engaged as an expert witness for many years mediating in
complex court cases where my knowledge and expertise are required to give
direction to the courts.
Enforcement of housing legislation has been the backbone of my career, such
as prosecuting landlords under the Housing Act 2004, and advised on disputes
arising in relation to the Council’s property portfolio, HHSRS and housing
standards litigation assessment and to draft advice notes, conduct legal
research and prepare reports for Committees for consideration.
Furthermore, I have attended relevant Committees and present reports as
required by numerous council Solicitors or his/her representative and given
testimony in countless court cases.
Self-employment, from 1994 to the present day. Current present position
Managing Director of the chartered surveyor.com. Indeed, the
www.charteredsurveyor.com a RICS regulated firm, dealing with
housing pathology expert witness reports for the HM court services and
for barristers throughout the UK.
