Consultant Stroke Physician: Dr James Scott
Qualifications: MBBS MSc FRCP

Dr Scott is Consultant Stroke Physician and Head of Service at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB), where he has been in post since 2012. During specialist training he completed an MSc in quality and safety in healthcare at the Centre for Patient Safety and Service Quality, Imperial College London including a medico-legal module with focus on the role of the expert witness and production of high-quality expert witness reports.

Dr Scott can give opinion on all aspects of Stroke medicine and is dual-accredited in general internal medicine. He has extensive NHS management experience as current assistant clinical director at UHDB. He has completed formal expert witness training.
