I am an insurance professional with a career spanning more than forty five years in the London, Dublin and international insurance and reinsurance markets. My career has included acting as both a broker and an underwriter.

As a broker I specialised in providing advice and consultancy services in professional indemnity insurance and the wider financial lines market. My underwriting expertise derives from leading a speciality casualty unit for a London market insurance company and as the Active Underwriter of a Lloyd’s syndicate and Group Chief Underwriting Officer. In the later roles I was responsible for the strategic oversight, discipline and profitability for all lines of business underwritten.

I have served as an executive director and board member for both an insurance company and a Lloyd’s managing agency and as a result I have a detailed and extensive knowledge of the London Market.

In addition to my strong technical insurance proficiency I have excellent negotiating and influencing skills. I am able to create and maintain business relationships at all levels to include employees, claimants, defendants, reinsurers, direct insurers, regulators, brokers and clients. I am also an accredited mediator.
