Previously I have been the Consultant Advisor in Psychiatry to Director General Army Medical Services and held a clinical role as Consultant Psychiatrist at the Department of Community Mental Health in Catterick Garrison. I retired in the rank of Colonel (OF5).
I was one of the data gatherers and co-author of the first operational mental health needs evaluation, the first research study to be carried out on mental health of deployed service personnel in Afghanistan.
I have published on the topic of Post-Traumatic Stress disorder in peer-reviewed journals.
My most recent clinical role was as a Consultant Forensic and General Adult Psychiatrist at St Andrew’s Healthcare based in Northampton.
I have held clinical caseloads in Men’s and Women’s Mental Health Pathways, and have been the interim Clinical Director for the Neuropsychiatry Pathway, as well as the Healthcare Director, for the Charity.
I was also the Associate Medical Director for Education and Training and an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at University of Buckingham Medical School until November 2022.
I have been certified by the Cardiff University Bond Solon course as an expert witness since 2015. I am in date for CPD with the Royal College of Psychiatrists for all aspects of my practice.
