Psychological Assessment:
Family Proceedings (public and private): Assessment of parents or carers in pre-proceedings or proceedings, to identify psychological causation of difficulties, levels of understanding, insight and acceptance, nature and level of risk, and treatment options.
Includes assessment of areas such as mental health, trauma, personality disorder, and neurodevelopmental disorder such as autism spectrum disorder.
Criminal Proceedings:
Assessment of individuals who have engaged in criminal behaviours, to explore causation of behaviours, risk assessment, levels of insight, ability to cope with incarceration, and treatment options to reduce risk.
Includes assessment of areas such as mental health, trauma, personality disorder, and neurodevelopmental disorder such as autism spectrum disorder.
Assessments to focus on, but are not exclusive to, violent offending, sexual offending, internet based offences, stalking, and engagement in group offending behaviours
Civil Proceedings:
Assessment in a medico-legal context, to include, but not limited to, PTSD, adjustment disorder, anxiety, and depression, following personal injury.
Cognitive Assessment:
Psychometric testing in adolescent (aged 16 to 17 years) and adult populations; assessment for learning disability, intelligence (IQ), memory testing, executive functioning. Assessment for exaggeration, feigning, and over-reporting.
Capacity Assessment:
Assessment of capacity to make decisions according to MHA (1983).
