Professor Nihal Gurusinghe trained in London at The Atkinson Morley’s Hospital, The National Hospital for Nervous Diseases and Great Ormond Street Hospital.

He was appointed as a Consultant Neurosurgeon in 1985. Aside from his extensive clinical experience he is also closely involved in the activities of the Society of British Neurological Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.

Professor Gurusinghe’s role as a member of the Executive Council of the Society and is to assist with the development of NICE guidelines relating to Neurosurgery.

He was also the joint Royal College Representative on the Specialist Advisory Committee in Neurosurgery for Surgical Training for The 4 surgical Royal Colleges.

He was on the Specialty Surgical Board of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, and currently serves as an Examiner for the UK and International FRCS (Neurosurgery) examinations.

Professor Gurusinghe has experience of: Clinical Negligence Personal Injury (mainly Plaintiff) Legal Aid Giving Evidence in Court.

He has completed Bond Solon training modules on Report writing and Giving evidence in Court in 2019 and 2020.
