Director Gary Jackson, specialises in boundary related matters and is a trained Expert Witness. He has been a Land Surveyor for over 40 years and a corporate member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors since 1998.
In 2011 he was awarded the Legal Experience Training Advanced Professional Award in Expert Witness Evidence (LETAPAEWE) accredited by Edexcel at a level 7 (master’s level) BTEC and approved by the RICS and completed the additional module in relation to Expert Witness Meetings in 2017.
Gary has extensive survey experience within the public and private sectors and has provided numerous surveys for government, educational and financial institutions, as well as a broad range of commercial clients including Architects, Engineers, Developers, Solicitors and other professional consultants, such as Party Wall Surveyors and Right of Light Consultants.
In July 2018 Gary became a member of the RICS Boundaries and Party Wall Working Group, who drafted the current RICS Guidance document on Boundaries (4th Edition).
Gary has regularly delivered presentations on Boundaries on behalf of the RICS and provided CPD talks to fellow surveyors and members of the legal profession. Since June 2020 Gary has been a Member of the Academy of Experts.
With an ever-increasing demand for survey work in relation to boundary related issues and disputes, in April 2019 Gary established an independent survey practice to focus solely on this area of work.
Since then, Gary has undertaken over 200 boundary surveys and reports. Over 80 of which were acting as an expert to produce a CPR (Part 35) compliant report, over 15 of these acting as a single joint expert (SJE).
These have led to taking part in several mediations and appearances in Court, along with the production of numerous transfer and agreement plans, as well as plans for ‘Determined Boundary’ applications.
Taking a practical approach, survey information and reports are presented in a clear and concise manner.
