Professor Kayvan Shokrollahi LLM FRCS (Plast) is a consultant Burns, Plastic and Laser Surgeon in Cheshire & Merseyside with an adult and paediatric practice. He specialises in general plastic surgery, burns, laser and scarring and is an international authority in the subject area of scarring as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal Scars, Burns & Healing – the world’s only scientific scar journal. He has written many of the leading international textbooks in areas such as burns, lasers, scarring and reconstructive plastic surgery.

He gained his Master of Law degree with commendation in 2005 and has extensive experience on medico-legal practice across a range of subject areas relevant to his broad expertise. His law thesis was on the subject of consent. He undertakes mainly personal injury and clinical negligence work on behalf of claimant and defendant solicitors.

He deals with a wide spectrum of acute and elective adult and paediatric patients across of range of plastic surgery, reconstructive and cosmetic problems from a wide regional catchment of 6 million people including Wales and Isle of Man, as well as quaternary referrals for complex cases including from other burns and plastic surgery services nationally. He also undertakes private practice relating the broad areas of plastic surgery and lasers from a number of hospitals in the region.

Prof Shokrollahi has published one hundred peer-reviewed articles in cited research journals and numerous book chapters in a wide range of areas related to plastic surgery giving him unique knowledge and insight into the field as a whole.
