I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Trauma surgeon at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge and was the Lead Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeon from 2014-2021.

Addenbrooke’s is the Major Trauma centre for East Anglia, and hence is dealing with the majority of the region’s complex trauma.

I am one of seven orthopaedic trauma surgeons with a specialist interest in complex trauma, and I regularly treat patients who have sustained multiple injuries.

I run a fracture clinic for patients sustaining all types of orthopaedic injuries, as well as a monthly, complex pelvic and acetabular specialist MDT clinic.

My areas of specialist interest are:

Pelvic and acetabular (hip socket) fractures, open fractures, multiply injured patients and complex lower limb injuries, including amputations, orthopaedic trauma fractures, severe lower limb trauma and polytrauma.

I have a significant academic interest and have a £250,000 grant awarded for research into distal femur fractures, £250,000 grant for research into acetabular fractures and £2.5 million for research into pelvic fractures.

I have been the invited chairman of the European AO pelvic and acetabular course a number of times.  AO courses are world leading instructional trauma courses.
