Mr Mamoon Alyah is a Chartered Electrical Engineer (UK) and a Professional Engineer (USA) with over 38 years of experience providing expert advice and opinions on matters involving electrical power systems (generation, transmission, and distribution), including both conventional and renewable energy.

He is a globally recognised expert in power generation plants (thermal, geothermal, wind, solar, nuclear, EFW and hydro).

Mr Alyah prepared expert reports and testified in disputes arising from Performance Ratio Guarantees (solar and wind) , technical delays during commissioning (Energy from Waste), installation delays (thermal, wind and solar), compliance with local and international standards (wind farms), cable joint failures, switchgear explosions (nuclear) in addition to other disputes related to complex failures.

Mr Alyah has investigated and prepared hundreds of reports on the root cause of failures in numerous engineering systems including turbines (gas and steam), wind power (onshore and offshore), solar power (PV and CSP), ESS (Energy Storage Systems), batteries, transformers, switchgear assemblies, cables in addition to other power equipment.

In addition, he is also a recognised expert in damage and failure of instrumentation (SCADA, PLC) in large and complex power plants and industrial systems in addition to medical equipment, IT and communication, boilers, CNC Machines, conveyor systems, HVAC, refrigeration, fire alarm and firefighting, rotating machinery and turbines, cranes and other types of equipment and machinery.

Mr Alyah has been qualified as an expert witness in different jurisdictions (USA, UK, EU, Middle East, Australia, Singapore, Japan and other locations) preparing expert reports and giving evidence in legal proceedings in courts and arbitration hearings. He has undergone cross examination in jury trials and courts in addition to arbitration tribunals.
