I have been working in the NHS since 1995, with 20 years experience as a
consultant with dual accreditation in Intensive Care Medicine and in Anaesthesia. I am an accredited expert witness, having attained the Cardiff University Bond Solon Civil Expert Certificate in 2024.

Intensive Care Medicine:
All aspects of intensive care medicine, including the treatment of sepsis, shock/cardiovascular support, respiratory failure and multiple organ failure.

Additional expertise in the specialist areas of intensive care for liver failure and transplantation, upper GI and bariatric surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, haematology and oncology.

Anaesthesia:
All areas of anaesthesia including cardiovascular management, intravenous fluid therapy, vascular access, preoperative assessment, airway management, postoperative management and complications.

Additional expertise in the specialist areas of anaesthesia for hepatobiliary surgery, upper GI and bariatric surgery.

My academic and educational interests include intravenous fluid therapy and electrolyte management, point of care ultrasound (POCUS), management of the deteriorating patient, the ethics of care escalation, prognostication and decision-making.
