Mr Torrie is a Consultant Spinal Surgeon whose full-time practice is focussed on dealing with problems affecting the whole spine, spinal cord and nerves of the spine. Mr Torrie exclusively operates on adults only.
Mr Torrie is an expert in the management of routine and complex spinal conditions including; spinal trauma and reconstruction, degenerative spinal disorders (back pain, lumbar disc prolapse, sciatica, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, cervical disc prolapse and myelopathy) and spinal infection.
Mr Torrie routinely performs around 150 major spinal operations per year split 25:75 between the cervical and the lumbar spine, in addition to a further 100 spinal injections per year.
Mr Torrie having completed his higher orthopaedic surgical training completed a complex cervical spine neurosurgical fellowship, in addition to a doctorate (MD anatomical sciences) at the University of Bristol.
