Dr Ghaly is a consultant in genito – urinary and sexual medicine , forensic physician – senior sexual offences examiner and expert witness. He has a wide range of experience having worked in obstetrics and gynaecology, surgery, orthopaedics, A&E, HIV and genitourinary medicine/sexual health. He was appointed as a consultant in Genito-­Urinary Medicine in January 1995.

Manging all aspect of sexual transmitted infections and HIV. He has been working in addition as a forensic medical examiner and sexual offences examiner since 2002 dealing with all aspects of custody healthcare and sexual offences including children.

His skills in both ultrasound, Gynaecology and GU Medicine give him a unique set of skills. His expertise in the latter covers all aspects of management of sexual transmitted infections and sexual health.

Including Sexual Dysfunction, Reproductive Health, HIV, Vulval Diseases and Pelvic Pain/Prostadynia and genital pain. Dr Ghaly has published a variety of papers (research and audit topics) in relevant medical journals which includes a review article in the management of pelvic pain.

Dr Ghaly has over 20 years specialist experience as a police surgeon/FME (Forensic Medical Examiner)/SOE (Sexual Offences Examiner) in a wide range of conditions including child protection, safe guarding, sexual assault, including management of sexual abuse and rape, and continuity of care for these victims (both sexes and under aged).

In addition to custody medical care for detainees with various medical conditions and road traffic offences Section 4 & 5. Dr Ghaly is a section 12 approved under the MHA. He has wide range of experience in mental health assessment and management pathways

Dr Ghaly has been a member of the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine and acted as an Expert Witness in various complex medico legal cases. Dr Ghaly has developed his medico legal skills by studying various law modules with Open University in order to gain more appreciation of the medico-legal matters within the NHS.

He has a bachelor of law and diploma in legal practice. He has vast experience in management having obtaining an Master of Business Administration (MBA), devising and maintaining protocols, audit and clinical governance policies.
