Strong academic background, with PhD awarded for work on the genetics of multiple sclerosis from the University of Cambridge, and Doctorate degree for neurological research in Germany. On-going active involvement in clinical research, including clinical trials and supervision of PhD students.

Substantial medicolegal experience since 2009, including personal injury, medical negligence and reports for the GMC.
