I graduated in medicine from the University of Glasgow (1995) and qualified as a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Management in 2004.

I currently work 60% in the NHS. I have a regular commitment to the pain management service.

As a recognised GMC trainer and conference speaker, I remain up to date. I hold the Diploma in Legal Medicine. I have a special interest in functional and somatic disorders.

I have been a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine, on the Specialist Register since 2004. I remain in front line clinical practice.

In pain management my specialist areas include persisting post injury or post surgical pain, CRPS, back pain, functional/somatic pain syndromes, fibromyalgia, neuropathic pain.

All general and trauma anaesthesia including that for labour and childbirth (pain relief, complications following epidural and spinal injections, decision making for urgent procedures, back pain or nerve pain persisting after labour or epidural).
