Dr David Hodgson has been providing opinions on complex clinical negligence cases since 2018. He acts as an expert witness, including the preparation of medico legal reports and appearing in court, in cases relating to patients attending an Emergency Department. He does not undertake personal injury claims.

Dr Hodgson has experience in medico-legal reporting across England and Wales and has prepared clinical negligence reports for many hospital trusts.

He has completed over 40 clinical negligence reports, of which two were on behalf of the claimant, and has attended three multidisciplinary case conferences.

Dr Hodgson regularly attends medico-legal courses and training annually as part of his Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and successfully completed the Bond Solon Expert Witness Certificate in 2018.

He was appointed as the Associate Medical Director for Quality and Safety in 2020 and has also provided legal reports for the Emergency Department. Through these roles, Dr Hodgson has had broad exposure to patient safety incident investigation, coronial report writing and clinical negligence cases.

Instructions can be undertaken on behalf of either claimant or defendant or as a Single Joint Expert.
