I am a consultant in Respiratory and General Internal Medicine. My MD was written within the field of airway pharmacology and immunology. Latterly, my research interests have included asthma, bronchial sepsis and small airways disease.

I collaborate with the Cochrane Airways group and have written a number of reviews/meta-analyses within my specialty.

I have been undertaking medico-legal work for approximately 25 years. Instructions relate to personal injury, clinical negligence and employment tribunal work. 70% claimant, 20% defendant and 10% single joint.

I write about 40 reports each year. I have experience of giving oral evidence in court and conference with counsel.

Cases relate to asbestos disorders, occupational asthma/RADS, toxic inhalation injury, tuberculosis, pulmonary embolism, community acquired pneumonia, lung cancer, drug induced lung disease, chest trauma (RTA) and other respiratory conditions.

I have been a member of the British Thoracic Society Occupational and Environmental Lung Disease Specialty Advisory Committee with a focus on work-related asthma and other causes of the disease of occupational inhaled diseases.

Our remit also includes other occupational conditions such as asbestos disorders and hypersensitivity pneumonitis.

I can usually see cases within one month after receipt of instructions/notes and x rays. Reports are returned within approximately one month thereafter. Appointments are mainly in Hertfordshire (at Hemel Hempstead Hospital or Harefield Hospital).

I can also see patients from Hampshire at Spire Portsmouth Hospital, Havant. I provide desktop reports.
