I have worked within psychology and adult mental health for over 30 years, starting in the NHS in 1994 and becoming a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in 2005.
Since 2012 I have provided psychological assessment reports for the court in Civil Law cases in England and Wales following clinical negligence or medical negligence and for personal injury cases such as road traffic accidents and collisions, pedestrian accidents and accidents at work.
I have expertise in assessing a wide range of psychological difficulties, including those covered by the following diagnoses:
• Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
• Adjustments Disorders (with anxiety and / or depression).
• Specific Phobias (e.g. car travel, fear of falling).
• Major Depressive Disorders.
• Generalised Anxiety Disorder.
• Panic Disorder.
I also have extensive experience assessing psychological adjustment to chronic pain, physical scarring or following clinical negligence or medical negligence.
I attained the Cardiff University Law School Bond Solon Civil Expert Certificate (CUBS) in 2017. I was also one of the original members to be Certified by the Expert Witness Institute (EWI) in 2017. I renewed this in 2023 and became a Certified Fellow of the EWI also.
I currently see clients face-to-face in clinics across the North West of England in five different locations: Burnley, Chester, Liverpool, Oldham and Preston.
I can usually see clients within six weeks of instruction.
Reports are provided 10 working days after the assessment.
Appointments and reports can be expedited for urgent deadlines such as those for the court.
