I am a Consultant in Critical Care Medicine and Anaesthesia at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is a major trauma centre providing tertiary services in Major Cancer, Robotic Surgery, Pelvic Floor, Neurosciences, Vascular and Maxillofacial services to the catchment of Lancashire and South Cumbria (Approx. 1.5 million patients).The unit has 32 beds.
I am a member of the Expert Witness Institute with fourteen years’ experience of preparing reports that are both full CPR35 compliant and in shortform versions. I have extensive experience in complaints handling and reporting for Her Majesty’s Coroner.
Currently I am a Medical Examiner covering the Lancashire and South Cumbria region. I am also a recognised expert witness for the General Medical Council. My average report turn around is up to 6 weeks from receipt of instructions.
My case work is approximately 80% Defendant 20% claimant. I am happy to provide joint expert work and have been involved in complex case work relating to Neuro Intensive care and brain injured patients.
I am happy to accept instructions on all aspects of general intensive care medicine, the acutely deteriorating patient and post ICU syndrome. I have subspeciality interests in neuro intensive care and major trauma care.
I will also accept case work related to wider critical care network decision making. I am happy to accept instructions relating to all aspects of Anaesthesia excluding Cardiothoracic and Obstetric anaesthesia.
