I am a Consultant Psychiatrist with a breadth and depth of experience in clinical practice, medical reporting and medicolegal work.
I have over 15 years’ experience assessing and treating patients with a full range of general adult mental health problems, including mood disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders and other anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders (PTSD), psychotic disorders, eating disorders, somatoform disorders and personality disorders.
In addition to general adult psychiatry, I have specialist expertise in eating disorders. am the Clinical Director for the Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Eating Disorder Service which covers a regional specialist eating disorder unit, and six community outpatient teams throughout the Trust’s footprint.
I am the Clinical Lead of the Northwest Provider Collaborative for Adult Eating Disorders.
I am a member of the Northwest MEED (Medical Emergencies in Eating Disorders) Group, and an elected member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Faculty of Eating Disorders Executive Board.
I have completed the Cardiff University Bond Solon Expert Witness Diploma and Certificate for Introduction to Civil Procedure Rules. I have been instructed by both Claimant and Defendant (75/25 split) as well as several Court of Protection cases.
