I am an experienced NHS Consultant in Paediatric Intensive Care and General
Paediatrics and I am experienced in assessing (and their management) babies and children.

I have experience in the assessment of children with medical conditions; developmental delay; learning difficulties; physical abuse and neglect.

I undertake independent assessments in a variety of areas and write reports for the courts relating to children and parents or other family members.

From a medicolegal perspective, I have prepared expert reports for the last 5 years with both claimant and defendant reports in medical negligence cases and criminal proceedings on behalf of the court and defence.

I have prepared more than 10 reports for the Civil, Family and Criminal Courts and given expert evidence in Court accordingly.

These reports have covered public and private law assessments of children; and assessment of injuries (including their causality).

Assessing concerns raised by individuals (including parents, solicitors and / or police) about the care of babies and children in both acute District General and Tertiary Hospitals and chronic incl their care at home and other settings.

I have recently completed the Cardiff University Bond Solon Expert Witness Certificate (2021), including Cross – Examination Day course; Courtroom Skills Training course; Excellence in Report Writing course; and Law and Procedure 1 and 2.

I have also completed multiple courses and workshops with indemnity providers MPS, MDU and MDDUS covering aspects if risk management, personal indemnity risks and medico legal report writing.

I accordingly have private medical indemnity insurance with the MDDUS.

I am seasoned trainer, teacher, facilitator, executive coach, mentor and mediator with extensive experience delivering comprehensive lectures and programs.

An excellent communicator (both written and verbal) demonstrated in day-to-day clinical roles, including facilitation and education of individuals groups and teams.
