I have been a consultant for almost 20 years and have wide experience in both anaesthesia and critical care medicine.
I am currently working at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt NHS Trust, a specialist orthopaedic hospital. Here I practice a wide range of regional anaesthesia, spinal anaesthesia and general anaesthesia for orthopaedic surgery.
From 2015 to 2019 I regularly undertook anaesthesia for bariatric surgery at a private clinic in Keflavik Iceland.
Until 2017 I was a consultant in anaesthesia and critical care at the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust. I provided anaesthesia for the wide range of surgical specialities encountered in a district general hospital.
I also worked for 20 years as a consultant in critical care medicine. I have a wide range of experience in providing intensive care for both medical and surgical patients requiring organ support. I am experienced in invasive and non-invasive ventilation, cardiovascular monitoring and support, and renal replacement therapy including haemodialysis and haemofiltration.
I am also experienced in the practical skills associated with intensive care including placement of central lines, arterial lines, dialysis lines and percutaneous tracheostomies.
I have a locum contract with my previous employer to provide regular intensive care sessions.
During the coronavirus pandemic I volunteered to return to full time intensive care caring for critically ill covid 19 patients. I have been undertaking medico legal work since 2015. I was awarded the Cardiff University Bond Solon expert witness certificate in April 2019. I aim to turn around reports within 6 weeks of receiving the appropriate documentation.
