Dr Nima Ghadiri is a Consultant Medical Ophthalmologist at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Liverpool.
He qualified from the University of Cambridge and completed specialist training in Medical Ophthalmology and Internal Medicine at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, followed by fellowships at the Medical Eye Unit, St Thomas’ Hospital, London, and Moorfields Eye Hospital.
He has particular expertise in ocular inflammatory disease and in conditions at the interface between ophthalmology and systemic medicine.
His clinical practice includes the diagnosis and management of complex medical eye disease, including uveitis, retinal and optic nerve disorders, and ophthalmic manifestations of neurological, rheumatological, autoimmune, infectious, and inflammatory conditions.
He has a particular interest in cases where visual symptoms or ocular findings reflect wider systemic pathology.
Dr Ghadiri accepts medico-legal instructions within his area of expertise and works with UK Ophthalmology Experts and Inspire MediLaw Chambers.
He has completed the Expert Witness Certificate and provides independent expert opinion in relation to ophthalmology and medical ophthalmology.
His medico-legal work includes cases involving diagnosis, investigation, management, delay in diagnosis, causation, prognosis, and the visual consequences of systemic disease.
He is committed to delivering clear, balanced, and well-reasoned reports in accordance with his duty to the Court.
Alongside his clinical practice, he is actively involved in research, teaching, clinical trials, and editorial work, supporting a detailed and evidence-based approach to complex ophthalmic assessment.
