I am an experienced equine welfare veterinary surgeon and have written an extensive number of expert reports and attended court on many occasions within this field. I am happy to undertake instruction from both prosecution and defence in this field.
I have a sound working knowledge of the Animal Welfare Act 2006 and the Control of horses Act 2015. I have also undertaken Farrier’s registration council instruction and local authority instruction.
I am happy to act on a single joint expert or single expert basis.
Areas concerning equine welfare:
Willing to provide expert opinion for both prosecution and defence parties for the court. Willing to attend court as required and can travel country wide.
Sound working knowledge of the Animal Welfare Act 2006 and also the corresponding Scottish legislation and have also undertaken local authority and farrier’s registration council case work.
I also undertake a significant amount of civil expert case work.
I have worked with most of the large equine charities within the UK and was awarded the British Equine Veterinary Association award for services to Equine welfare in 2019.
I completed my Cardiff University and Bond Solon (CUBS) certificates in criminal and civil law expert witness training in 2018.
I gained a Masters (MSc) in Veterinary Forensic Science in 2022 and a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (CertAVP) in 2024. I am a member of the Academy of Experts (MAE) and the International Veterinary Forensic science Association.
I am currently undertaking a Master’s (MSc) in Animal Welfare, legislation and policy.
