Carl is a highly experienced Drug Expert Witness with over 30 years exemplary service in Staffordshire Police, including 25 years as Detective.

He spent 12 years in the Stoke-on-Trent Proactive Unit, leading and assisting in complex drug operations targeting street-level dealers and regional suppliers.

Carl qualified as a Drug Expert Witness in 2007 and has provided expert reports on a wide range of drug-related cases, from street supply to large-scale importations. He has given expert evidence in both Crown and Magistrates’ Courts and assisted in many Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) hearings.

Before he retired from the Staffordshire Police, he was the Force Drug Liaison Officer and Drug Expert Witness Coordinator for five years, overseeing the provision of expert evidence and advising on complex drug cases.

Carl has worked collaboratively with Staffordshire University contributing to various academic studies on street drug markets.
