Dr Elliott Berry is a Fellow of the International Institute of Marine Surveying (FIIMS) and a member of its Management Board. He has 29 years of experience surveying boats and ships of all types, sizes, materials and methods of construction throughout the UK and Europe.

He is the IIMS representative on the British Standards Institution GME/33 Small Craft Committee, which provides the UK input into the international and European small craft standards committees ISO/TC 188 and CEN/TC 464.

He holds MCA approvals, through the IIMS Certifying Authority, for tonnage measurement and for Small Commercial Vessel Code surveys, and is approved for stability tests and MLC inspections.

He undertakes pre‑purchase, insurance, damage, valuation, tonnage, stability and machinery surveys on wood, GRP, steel, aluminium, iron and ferrocement craft, together with tow approvals and consultancy for private, commercial and legal clients.
