I am a Chartered Building Engineer and Chartered Surveyor practising through Freetec Associates Limited, providing independent expert opinion in relation to building defects, construction disputes and property-related matters affecting residential and small commercial buildings.
I am seeking to accept expert witness instructions in matters involving:
Defective workmanship, negligent construction, structural movement and cracking, foundation defects, drainage failures, dampness and moisture ingress, roofing defects, and the failure of retaining walls and boundary structures.
My work frequently involves investigation of the cause and extent of building damage, analysis of causation, and the preparation of costed schedules of remedial works.
I also have experience in disputes relating to landscaping works, external structures, boundary encroachments, and the structural behaviour of traditional masonry buildings.
In addition, I regularly advise on matters associated with the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 where building operations or excavation have caused damage to adjoining property.
I prepare independent technical reports and expert evidence for litigation and dispute resolution, including reports compliant with CPR Part 35 and the associated Practice Directions.
I am familiar with the duties of an expert witness to the court and understand the requirement to provide objective, impartial and evidence-based opinion.
My work regularly supports solicitors, insurers and the courts.
