I am a Chartered Building Engineer and Chartered Surveyor practising through Freetec Associates, providing independent expert witness opinion in relation to building defects, construction disputes, property damage and valuation matters affecting residential and small commercial property.
I am available to accept expert witness instructions in matters involving:

My work frequently involves detailed investigation of building pathology, defect diagnosis, causation analysis, mechanism of failure, and the determination of the cause and extent of building damage.
I regularly prepare costed schedules of remedial works, repair specifications, and opinions on appropriate remedial strategies.
I also have experience in disputes relating to landscaping defects, groundworks, external works, boundary encroachment, trespass, and the structural behaviour and performance of traditional masonry buildings and modern construction.
In addition, I regularly advise in relation to the Party Wall etc. Act 1996, including damage caused by excavation, underpinning, structural alterations and adjacent construction works, and provide expert opinion in disputes arising under the Act.
I accept instructions in matters involving property damage claims, insurance claims, construction defect disputes, boundary disputes, and diminution in value arising from defects or adverse conditions.
I prepare independent expert reports, single joint expert reports and technical evidence for use in litigation, including proceedings in the County Court and the Technology and Construction Court.
All reports are prepared in accordance with Civil Procedure Rules Part 35, Practice Direction 35, and relevant RICS guidance.
