I am a Consultant Chartered Engineer with broad-ranging experience of electrical engineering as well as data, audio and controls. I have an active consultancy practice providing electrical safety management advice to small companies and national organisations.
I have developed and deliver training to private organisations and public bodies including the HSE.
I have extensive knowledge of electrical safety principles and relevant legislation, including temporary power infrastructure. I am a member or chair a range of national British Standards Committees and am a UK representative on international committees responsible for electrical safety standards.
I have three books published on electrical safety (including the UK guidance on what is known as ‘PAT testing’) and one on lighting control.
I have given expert advice to the courts in health and safety cases on behalf of both the prosecution and defence teams. I have acted in insurance disputes and civil cases.
I am experienced in preparing expert reports compliant with the Civil Procedure Rules (Part 35) and the Criminal Procedure Rules (Part 19) along with associated practice directions.
I have prepared joint reports where there are differing opinions between experts submitted to the Court and I also have experience of attending court and being cross-examined.
