I then served for 2.5 years as a meteorological consultant at marine firm based in London, observing, plotting and forecasting the weather globally, for the media and many other recipients.
In October 1987, I formed my own company, British Weather Services, and amongst a host of differing meteorological & oceanographical tasks ever since,
I have provided and continue to provide expert witness reports, site investigations, expert evidence to courts / insurance professionals, the police, coroners and other legal entities.
During the past 35+ years, along with BWS colleagues, I gained daily experience of assessing, predicting and logging of weather conditions at site specific global stadia across numerous sporting concerns for the world’s biggest sports betting company & other such companies.
During the not-too-distant past I provided my services to F1GP & the Ford World Rally team, observing and forecasting weather and track / road conditions for the team, which involved accounting for and prediction of rainfall impact and ice formation/cessation on surfaces.
For the past 3 years I have provided regular and extensive expert meteorological opinion / commentary to the broadcast media (radio, TV & print), including the BBC (various), Sky News, Channel 5, GB News, Talk TV, LBC / LBC News, Times Radio and several media outlets.
I am perceived as being very knowledgeable within my industry, covering weather & climate issues across the U.K. and the rest of the world, including political and economic takes.
I am flexible and fleet of foot. I make myself available for interviews & provide commentary at short notice.
In July 2020 I wrote the business book – ‘Weather or Not? – The Personal and Commercial Impacts of Weather and Climate’ (LID Business Publishing, London), which explains how and why the weather impacts just about all aspects of our lives, within which is a chapter on weather and legal cases.
A second authored book with US Survivalist Mykel Hawke published by Skyhorse Publishing, New York will be available in the U.S. March 2024 & the U.K. April 2024 and entitled ‘Surviving Extreme Weather – The Complete Climate Change Preparedness Manual’ is now available online, published April 2024. A documentary on the same will follow in due course.
