I am a qualified Naval Architect & Chartered Engineer working as a Marine and Yacht Surveyor & Marine Consultant in the both the leisure and commercial marine markets. Specialising in high unit value vessels of all types, up to approximately 40m in length.
Materials covered include wood, GRP and steel.
I have worked in the marine industry for in excess of fifty years. I have held senior management positions in GRP production management for in excess of twenty five years.
International sales and marketing for ten years, covering private, commercial, high speed and paramilitary craft of all types up to approximately 50m. With special responsibility for Pacific Asia.
I was a senior marine manager with MAN B&W Ltd with responsibility for international sales of high speed marine diesel engine and propulsion systems.
Received professional training initially as an apprenticed (wood) yacht and boat builder for five years, followed by ten years training as a Naval Architect and Ship’s Manager with Vosper Thornycroft Ltd, Shipyard, Portsmouth.
A qualified Marine Surveyor, Marine Expert Witness & Marine Consultant. Compliant under Expert Witness – Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) part 35 & Criminal Procedure Rules (CrPR) part 33, Party Appointed Expert PAE, Single Joint Expert SJE and have written in excess of some 100 plus Expert Reports throughout the EU.
Recent Expert Witness instructions – Nordhavn 55 (Qualifying Ship for VAT) (v) HMRC.
We have undertaken in excess of some 3,000 marine surveys of all types to include (but not limited to) pre-purchase surveys, marine accident reports, insurance loss adjusters and valuations etc.
In addition, I am an Associate of The Academy of Experts, 3 Grays Inn Square London – Marine Surveyor & Consultant, and on the Register of Qualified Mediators & Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) QDR No. 320.
