Mr Jonathan Bull is a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Complex Spine Surgeon in London. He treats a range of brain and spinal disorders, both simple and complex. His practice is focused on spinal surgery and cranial / head trauma working in Europe’s largest major trauma centre

He is able to provide reports covering arm and leg pain, sciatica, disc prolapse and disc injury, spinal and cranial trauma, tumours as well as medical negligence and has done so for defendants and claimants as well as for the GMC.

Jonathan studied Neurophysiology and Medicine at the University of Cambridge, qualifying in 2000. Initial surgical training on the Imperial College basic surgical rotation, followed by higher surgical training in Neurosurgery under the tutelage of Henry Marsh in the South Thames Programme.

Alongside, he achieved a Doctor of Medicine (MD Res) at University College London (UCL) specialising in MRI diffusion / tractography applied to paediatric brain tumours.

He is the Clinical Director of 254 Multirole Medical Regiment (MMR) as a substantive Colonel.

He was the Defence Consultant Advisor (DCA) in Neurosurgery & spinal surgery providing advice and guidance as well as care in the UK and on deployment for Defence personnel and dependents with consecutive appointments from 2019 to 2024.

He is an appointed member of the Secretary of State for Transport’s Honorary Medical Advisory Panel for Neurological Disorders.

In addition, he is the Training Programme Director for North London for Neurosurgery and is a member of the intercollegiate Specialist Advisory Committee (SAC) for Neurosurgery and liaison member for the NE of England.

Jonathan is a trained appraiser and undertakes them for Defence and is the Society of British Neurological Surgeons (SBNS) appointee on the Royal College of Surgeons Invited Review Oversight Group (IROG) responsible for the process of invited practice reviews.
