Mr Mamoon Alyah is a Chartered Electrical Engineer (UK) and a Professional Engineer (USA) with over 35 years of experience investigating complex incidents involving electrical power systems (power generation, transmission, and distribution), including turbine failure (gas and steam), wind power (onshore and offshore), solar power (PV and CSP) in addition to geothermal, hydro and other energy power systems.
Mr Alyah has investigated and prepared hundreds of reports on the root cause of failures in numerous engineering systems including ESS (Energy Storage Systems), batteries, transformers, switchgear assemblies, cables in addition to other power equipment.
In addition, he is also a recognised expert in damage and failure if SCADA, PLC, medical equipment, IT and communication, boilers, CNC Machines, conveyor systems, HVAC, refrigeration, fire alarm and firefighting, rotating machinery and turbines, cranes and other types of equipment and machinery.
He also investigated major and complex incidents in industrial plants providing opinions on root cause and developing reinstatement options.
Mr Alyah has been qualified as an expert witness in different jurisdictions (USA, UK, EU, Middle East, Australia and Asia) preparing expert reports and giving evidence in legal proceedings in many jurisdictions in matters involving electrical energy networks, power equipment and apparatus, construction disputes, and defect claims (design, manufacturing and workmanship).
Mr Alyah has authored several articles published in leading industry magazines, in addition to being a frequent lecturer on a variety of topics to different organisations and groups such as the CILA, OEC London and Dubai, IMIA among many others.
He hosts a monthly webinar for insurance industry professionals on topics covering energy and engineering claims, including claims related to electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and renewable energy.
