Mr Heaton undertakes the full range of expert advice from second opinions to formal medicolegal reports including medical negligence, personal injury and causation and prognosis Reports.
Mr Heaton has been instructed by both claimant and defendant solicitors, is a recognised expert witness for the General Medical Council and provides opinions and reports for the Welsh, Scottish and English Public Health Service Ombudsmen.
Mr Heaton is able to offer opinions on general plastic surgery, including scars, outcomes following repair, acute hand surgery and trauma etc as well as in his specialist fields of skin cancer, reconstruction and head and neck surgery.
With nine years’ experience as a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, Mr Heaton has a wealth of experience when dealing with contentious matters.

I regularly prepare and write reports for the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman and the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (8 – 10 cases per annum). I am an approved expert witness for the General Medical Council (3 – 4 cases per annum).
