At Torbay Hospital Mr Hockings is actively involved in teaching and training of junior surgeons and has been an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons in the UK since 2009, ensuring high standards for trainee surgeons. Mr Hockings was voted Trainer of the Year in the South West in 2013 by the registrar trainees.
Academically, Mr Hockings keeps up to date by attending National Conferences in Knee surgery and the British Orthopaedic Association, of which he is a Fellow. He is also a member of BASK (British Association of Surgery to the Knee) and has publication in the Knee Journal and in the Bone and Joint Journal (British Orthopaedic Association Journal).

I am a subspecialist in knee injuries, I would prefer referrals in relation to knee problems.
Knee replacements; Partial or Unicompartment knee replacements; Revision knee replacements (revising an existing knee replacement); Knee ligament reconstruction;
Anterior & posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction; Knee keyhole (arthroscopic) surgery for cartilage problems; Micro fracture for cartilage regeneration; Realignment osteotomies for knee arthritis and instability; Trauma Surgery (at Torbay Hospital).
I am not doing litigation at present but may consider this in the future.
