I have been a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist for the last 25 years with a broad NHS and general private practice.
I have had a particular interest as a Gynaecologist in pelvic floor injuries after childbirth, and also in minimal access surgery for endometriosis and pelvic pain. In 1998.
I established the first clinic for women who were victims of female Genital mutilation. In 2003, together with my colleague Mr Harry Gordon I helped rewrite the 2003 FGM act.
Over the last 15 years I have also developed an interest in Cosmetic Gynaecology, and am frequently instructed on cases to deal with complications following labiaplasty and vaginal surgery.
I have run a busy Obstetric NHS and Private Practice, and in 1995 was awarded the RCOG WellBeing Training Fellowship for work on Hypertension and Pre-eclampsia. I established the London Pre-eclampsia Group and the Reproductive Vascular Group.
I am now in full time private practice, and run both a clinical and legal practice. I see patients for medico legal consultations in London, Birmingham and Manchester.
With over 15 years’ experience of medico-legal work, I am trained in report writing, giving evidence in the Crown Court and the Coroners court. I also lecture on these topics. I undertake 100 cases annually, 10% single joint expert, 70% claimant, 20% defendant. In 2025,
I became the Chair of the Medico-Legal Committee of the Independent Doctors Federation. I have acted as a GMC panellist advisor and have acted as an expert to Southwark and Maidstone and Doncaster and West London Coroners Courts.
I have provided expert reports to the Court of Protection and the Family and Crown courts.
I am an AVMA and MPS panellist.
