I am a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Spinal Surgeon. I have retired from the NHS but I continue to have a busy academic and medicolegal practice.
My previous clinical and current research interests are wide and include the fields of head injury, spinal injury, spinal infection, spinal haematomas, spinal surgery in general, the cauda equina syndrome, subarachnoid haemorrhage, dementia in rugby football and many other areas of neurosurgical practice.
I have recently taken a particular interest in contributory negligence and the role of seat-belt and airbag usage and also cycle helmets in the causation of head and spinal injury.
I have provided some thousands of reports. These reports have been provided for a number of areas of litigation including personal injury, clinical negligence, defamation and reports for the Family Division of the Court.
Reports have been provided for a number of jurisdictions including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Gibraltar, Canada, The United States of America, Singapore and Australia.
I have appeared in Court on many occasions including the County Court, the High Court and on one occasion the Criminal Court of Appeal.
