Nigel was employed in industry from 1979 until 1987, by a manufacturer of gas turbines (jet engines) for use in aircraft propulsion, marine propulsion, and power generation and similar applications.

During this time he was involved in the defect investigation and failure analysis of gas turbines, the maintenance and overhaul of gas turbines and ancillary plant, and also the on-site installation, commissioning, and maintenance of gas turbine power generation projects.

Nigel joined Strange Strange and Gardner as an engineer in 1987, and a partner in 1998. During this time he has reported on over 3 500 claims, the majority of which have been in personal injury cases with some in commercial disputes, product liability claims and criminal investigations.

Nigel is an accredited Expert Witness, listed in the Law Society’s Directory of Expert Witnesses, UK Register of Expert Witnesses and APIL Experts Database.
