Peter Dixon is a practising chiropractor with practices in Bradford on Avon, Devizes, Chippenham, and from employing a multi-disciplinary team. He has over 35 years clinical experience running a general practice, treating patients of all ages.
Peter was part of the medical team at the 2012 London Olympics and have experience working with Bath Cricket Club, Bath Rugby as well as several other elite athletes.
Throughout his career Peter has worked to build a professional infrastructure for the chiropractic profession in the UK.
He was part of the team that successfully lobbied the government to pass The Chiropractors Act in 1994, Past President of the British Chiropractic Association, the European Chiropractors’ Union and the Royal College of Chiropractors.
He has served on the Professional Conduct Committee of the General Chiropractic Council (GCC), and has Chaired the GCC from 2006 – 2013.
All the time Peter has worked to improve professional standards within the profession for the safety of patients and to enhance the reputation of the profession.
As a regulator, clinician and an employer, he has a good understanding of the chiropractic profession and the responsibilities that go with it.
Peter has undertaken work as an expert witness since 2015, providing reports for complaints referred to the GCC and in civil actions, instructed by solicitors for both complainants and defendants, providing written evidence and, when necessary, verbal evidence in either Courts or Tribunals.
He has also acted as a consultant to the Chiropractic Association of Ireland helping them develop a code of practice for their members.
