Rod Appleyard is a chartered building surveyor and trained in the compiling and delivery of expert witness reports/giving evidence. His area of expertise includes fenestration and all facets of building envelope defects.
He is knowledgeable of all facets of construction dispute and regularly works as an independent expert witness within a within a legal team.
He has been fully trained in all aspects of expert witness instruction including the delivery of his expertise in a courtroom environment including that of a single joint expert instruction.
His instructions have included construction and fenestration defects, contractual and specification matters and adjudication or arbitration of disputes between householders and their contractors or contractors/contractors.
He accepts instruction in relation to dispute surveys, expert witness reports and safety and arbitration surveys and is an expert in building envelope, glass, glazing, double glazing, curtain walling, PVC, timber and aluminium frames and structures – furniture, glazing, stained & coloured glass, rain screen cladding and other masonry envelopes, for both domestic and commercial clients along with personal Injury claims relating to glass.
Trained in the discipline of delivering expert witness reports in court, also a listed adjudicator, arbitrator, accredited mediator and expert determination.
AUEW. Aberdeen University accredited Expert Witness (Faculty of Law) Diploma for Scottish Courts. This was achieved through extensive study of Scottish Law and culminating in intensive examination with a 95% pass.
