I am a Consultant Plastic, Burns, and Reconstructive Surgeon with extensive experience in burns surgery, complex trauma, microsurgery, reconstructive procedures, and scar management.
My clinical work includes the management of acute burns, plastic surgery trauma, soft tissue injuries, skin grafting, and complex reconstruction, with a particular focus on lower limb trauma, Ortho-plastic reconstruction, and abdominal wall reconstruction.
I hold a substantive consultant appointment at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, where I also serve as an Honorary Consultant Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham, School of Medicine.
I am the Chair of the Complex Wound Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and lead the management of complex wound patients, including pressure sores, post-surgical wound complications, and advanced reconstructive techniques.
I have completed multiple fellowships in microsurgery, lower limb reconstruction, and aesthetic surgery across the UK and Australia, with past roles as an Ortho-plastic Fellow at Nottingham City Hospital.
A Microsurgical Fellow at Nottingham City Hospital and Southmead Hospital, Bristol, and a Breast & Aesthetic Fellow at Pacific Private Hospital, Queensland, Australia.
My expertise extends to nerve repair, revascularisation, and soft tissue transfer, ensuring optimal functional and aesthetic outcomes for patients with severe trauma, burns, or surgical defects.
I have extensive experience in medico-legal reporting, preparing expert witness reports on burns injuries, plastic surgery trauma, and medical negligence cases.
While I provide condition and prognosis reports, I also focus on breach of duty, negligence, and causation reports. I comply with Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) Part 35 and have completed Bond Solon’s Excellence in Report Writing.
Areas Include:
Burns Mismanagement – Delayed or inadequate treatment leading to scarring, infection, or functional impairment
Plastic Surgery Errors – Failures in surgical technique, planning, or post-operative care resulting in poor outcomes or complications
Failure to Diagnose or Treat Burns Injuries – Inadequate assessment or mismanagement leading to wound deterioration, sepsis, or long-term disability
Complications Following Reconstructive Surgery – Failures in flap survival, graft integration, or wound healing
Pressure Sores & Complex Wound Reconstruction – Mismanagement of pressure ulcers and chronic wounds, requiring surgical intervention and reconstruction
Post-Operative Infections – Preventable infections due to poor surgical hygiene, inadequate wound care, or failure to recognise early signs of infection
Microsurgical Failures – Errors in nerve repair, revascularisation, or soft tissue transfer leading to functional impairment
Failure to Identify and Manage Nerve Injuries – Delayed or inadequate treatment of traumatic or surgical nerve damage
Negligence in Trauma-Related Soft Tissue Repair – Poor surgical outcomes in complex limb injuries requiring reconstructive procedures
Complications in Orthoplastic Surgery – Failures in bone and soft tissue reconstruction, often requiring microsurgical intervention
Breast & Aesthetic Surgery Errors – Failures in surgical technique or reconstructive breast surgery complications
Negligence in Lower Limb Trauma Management – Mismanagement of open fractures, soft tissue defects, and post-surgical complications
