Mr Saj Wajed is a senior, experienced Consultant Surgeon practicing at the Royal Devon & Exeter and Nuffield Health Exeter Hospitals continuously since 2004. He maintains a busy, high volume specialist NHS and Private Practice.
Areas of interest include: reflux disease, gallstones, hernia, the management and diagnosis of gastro-intestinal conditions and emergency general surgery.
He is the General Surgery representative on the Medical Advisory Committee at Nuffield Health Exeter. Previous managerial roles include Clinical Lead for Upper GI Surgery at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital where he was involved in Governance, Safety and Audit for the Trust.
Mr Wajed is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Exeter Medical School. He has continually been active in research, teaching, and training and pioneered surgical innovation, lectured and published widely.
His medical training commenced at Gonville & Caius College Cambridge in 1986, graduating with 1st Class Honours in Medical Sciences in 1989.
He completed Clinical Studies at Oxford University Medical School, qualifying in 1992. He was received the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1996 and was awarded a Master of Surgery degree from the University of Cambridge in 2005 following a Research Fellowship at the University of Southern California.
