Simon graduated from the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research at Southampton University in 1989 with a BEng (Hons) degree in Engineering Acoustics and Vibration.

He joined a leading acoustic consultancy in 1990, became a Director in 1998 and Managing Director in 2008. In 2022, Simon co-founded a new sound and vibration consultancy, Quantum Acoustics.

He is a Chartered Engineer, FEANI European Engineer, a Fellow of the Institute of Acoustics, a Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, a Member of the Society of Building Services Engineers and a Member of the UK Register of Expert Witnesses

Simon has over 35 years’ experience as an acoustic consultant, covering all aspects of acoustics.

These include environmental noise and vibration surveys, planning noise and vibration impact assessments, architectural acoustics, building services acoustics, acoustic testing, computer modelling and simulation, construction/demolition monitoring.

Simon has significant experience providing expert witness and legal assistance, having given evidence at various Public Inquiries, Planning Appeals, Landlord’s Tribunal Hearings and the House of Lords.

He has provided expert evidence in connection with both civil and criminal court cases, working with leading barristers for both prosecution and defence.
