I am a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at the Wythenshawe Hospital, part of the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). I completed a 2-year advanced surgical fellowship at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, USA as well as an observership at the University of Toronto prior to being appointed as a consultant in 2019.
I am the chair for our departmental Morbidity and Mortality meetings in my trust and I am involved in service developments for lung cancer, emphysema surgery (Lung Volume Reduction) and sarcoma. I have been appointed to sit on the Medical Practioners Tribunal (MPTS) in 2023, which deal with regulatory / licensing matters.
I have undergone medico-legal training with Bond Solon (Civil Expert Witness Certificate) and I regularly attend medicolegal conferences. I have experience with joint instructions, preparing joint expert reports and giving evidence in court. I have full medico-legal indemnity with the Medical Protection Society.
