Katie is an exceptionally experienced Midwife and Expert Witness who qualified in 2006 and has worked in both hospitals and community settings.
She continues to practice as an NHS midwife, expanding her knowledge of clinical and evidence-based practice, emerging clinical techniques, and local and national guidelines.
Katie offers broad and deep experience of antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal practices in the delivery suite, theatre, birth centre and home environments, gaining comprehensive knowledge of standards and clinical risk management.
In addition, she is a specialist in home birth, birth trauma and postnatal depression and has worked extensively with vulnerable families.
She is highly competent in assessing medical interventions such as neonatal resuscitation, neonatal care, or brain injury following birth, which can be associated with cerebral palsy or Erb’s palsy.
She has worked in some of the busiest maternity units in the country and has cared for babies and mothers with rare conditions.
Katie provides clear, concise, and Court compliant independent expert midwifery reports encompassing professional negligence, breach of duty, and standard of care.
