Ms Shveta Bansal is a Consultant Ophthalmologist based at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
She has been an Ophthalmologist for over 20 years, qualifying from Cambridge University followed by Guy’s Kings and St Thomas’ School of Medicine and Dentistry.
She is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Edge Hill University and Academic Adviser at Manchester University.
Ms Bansal’s work is primarily in comprehensive ophthalmology including cataract surgery and all causes of vision loss.
She also specialises in neuro-ophthalmology and strabismus (squint) surgery, for which she leads a tertiary service in the Lancashire region.
She manages patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical problems which have impacted vision, including trauma, surgery, brain tumours, disorders of the optic nerve and raised intracranial pressure.
