Medical Experience:

Professor Quraishi is a committed, academic, highly experienced Consultant Spine Surgeon and Honorary Professor working at the Queen’s Medical Centre (Nottingham, UK).

He successfully completed a three years tenure as Head of Service in 2015-2018 and he is currently serving as the lead for spinal research (2018 to present), which is something He is very passionate about. He has completed a masters in law honours thesis on ‘Clinical Negligence and the Spine Surgeon’, and have a PhD in ‘outcome and health related quality of life following surgery in spinal cancers’. More recently, Professor Quraishi has been awarded a scholarship to undertake a MBA (Master of Business Administration) at the University of Nottingham.

Prof Quraishi has been awarded the prestigious Scoliosis Research Society fellowship award and was hosted across centres of excellence in the USA in the summer of 2014. In addition, He is an award-winning international presenter, author of almost 100 publications in peer reviewed journals and holds academic positions at both the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University.

Prior to starting in Nottingham, he was a Consultant Spine Surgeon at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre/John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford (2006-07, Locum). He gained excellent experience during a combined spinal neurosurgery and orthopaedic fellowship in Toronto, Canada, as well as the Norman Capner Travelling fellowship to the Johns Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore, USA) awarded by the Royal College of Surgeons.

Prof Quraishi has completed five years as a higher surgical trainee in the Cambridge and East Anglia region, his basic surgical training was undertaken at Hammersmith/Charing Cross Hospitals, Imperial College, London and he attended medical school at Manchester University.
