Miss Christina Kontoghiorghe is a UK-trained Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with specialist expertise in adult musculoskeletal trauma, fracture management and major trauma.
She has completed UK higher surgical training and obtained her Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery, and holds the FRCS (Tr&Orth) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Her clinical practice has been based at a range of district general hospitals, specialist elective centres and high-volume Major Trauma Centres, including The Royal London Hospital, where she has managed the full spectrum of orthopaedic trauma, from simple fractures to complex polytrauma.
She has a particular subspecialty interest in major and complex trauma.
Miss Kontoghiorghe also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports, Exercise and Health Medicine from University College London and an MSc in Trauma Sciences with Distinction from the University of Cape Town.
Her research has been presented nationally and internationally, has received a number of awards and fellowships, and she has published work in peer reviewed journals. She has extensive experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, faculty roles and quality improvement.
Her broad clinical experience and academic background enable her to provide clear, balanced and evidence-based independent opinions on causation, injury assessment, prognosis and the long-term consequences of musculoskeletal trauma.
