I am a Consultant dual trained in Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthesia, appointed as a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthesia at Southmead Hospital in 2014.

My clinical work is in Intensive Care Medicine. Southmead Hospital ICU admits more than 2500 patients per year and is a regional specialist centre for Major Trauma, Vascular, Neurosciences, Burns and Renal Medicine.

I provide care for patients from most medical and surgical specialties as well as the specialist services provided at Southmead Hospital.

In addition to my clinical work, I have extensive leadership experience in the NHS up to Deputy Executive level with an interest in clinical governance and patient safety.

I have been doing medicolegal work since 2020. I undertake a mix of claimant (5%), defendant (90%) and coronial (5%).

I undertake 20 new cases per year and would expect 2-3 attended court cases per year.

I aim to provide reports within 3 weeks of receiving the records and do not carry out face to face patient assessments as these are not relevant to my practice.
