I am a clinical academic with over 24 years of dedicated experience in the field of podiatry, specialising in the diagnosis, management, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders/injuries of the lower limb.
My expertise spans sports injuries, gait function analysis, clinical biomechanics, pre-and post foot and ankle surgery, and evidence-based rehabilitation, positioning me as a leading authority in both clinical and academic domains.
My career reflects a sustained commitment to translational research, advanced practice, innovative education, and national and international professional leadership that spans across education, research and clinical and academic journals.
Over my career, I have held senior academic and advisory posts, published widely, and presented at national and international conferences. I have led and contributed to interdisciplinary research projects and professional education boards, influencing curriculum development, clinical competencies, and professional standards.
I currently serve as Chair of the Research, Development and Innovation Committee for Royal College of Podiatry, where I lead strategic initiatives to promote research capacity, innovation, and impact across the profession.
This includes oversight of national funding schemes, collaborative research programmes, and partnerships that bridge clinical practice, academia, and industry.
My role plays a central part in shaping the profession’s research agenda and supporting evidence-based practice across the UK and internationally
In addition, currently I am the Editor-in-Chief of an international peer-reviewed journal, a position that enables me to remain at the forefront of emerging clinical evidence and scholarly developments in foot and lower limb health.
This role ensures continuous engagement with high-quality research and global perspectives, enhancing my ability to critically evaluate, synthesise, and apply evidence to improve patient care and inform professional standards.
I am widely engaged with industry, regulatory bodies, and media organisations to ensure the dissemination of evidence-based knowledge.
My expert commentary and advice have featured in BBC Radio Wales and television, O&P Business News (USA) and international magazines, where I have contributed to raising public awareness of foot and lower limb health.
I am happy to receive single joint expert work and can produce reports withing a tight timeframe if required.
